Datapack Corner

The smallest datapack that does something. Folder layout:

neptune_pack/
  pack.mcmeta
  data/neptune/function/tick.mcfunction
  data/minecraft/tags/function/tick.json

tick.mcfunction runs every game tick:

execute as @a at @s run particle minecraft:end_rod ~ ~1 ~ 0 0 0 0.05 3

tick.json tells Minecraft to run it:

{ "values": [ "neptune:tick" ] }

Tip: newer versions use the folder name "function". Older ones used "functions". The pack_format number in pack.mcmeta depends on your Minecraft version.
